The BlackWords Book Club – Brother Moon by Maree McCarthy Yoelu (Online)

June 1 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm AEST

BlackWords Book Club meets to celebrate and discuss Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander writers and their work. We are proud to share brother Moon by Maree McCarthy Yoelu, a Wadjigany woman, from the western Wagait region in the Northern Territory.

She grew up in Daly River and now lives in Darwin where she works in radio. Liman is Maree’s grandfather. She writes to keep his stories and the Batjamalh language alive for generations to come.

Brother Moon is her first book.

Reconciliation Australia acknowledges and pays respect to the past, present and future Traditional Custodians and Elders of this nation and the continuation of cultural, spiritual and educational practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
