Reconciliation Week/Mabo Day Yarning Circle 2022 – First Nations and Allies Sub-Committee Event

National Reconciliation Week/Mabo Day Yarning Circle 2022 – Qld – Sat 28 May 1.00pm.

The AASW QLD Branch First Nations and Allies SC are facilitating a series of Yarning Circles to mark significant annual First Nations celebrations and occasions.

The objective of the yarns is to create connection and to provide space for safe exploration of culture and justice for First Nations peoples and the role and responsibilities of Social Work among First Nations peoples.

To contribute to this, the First Nations and Allies SC will be holding a practical workshop to share, explore, discuss and demonstrate:

*Place names project
*Advocacy work
*Save the Date to workplaces
*Drafting letters/petition to local councils for place names/dual signage.
