National Reconciliation Week

2023 Events

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

 

The dates for NRW are the same each year; 27 May to 3 June.

 

Every year workplaces, schools, early learning services, community groups, reconciliation groups, and people right across the country host a whole range of activities.

 

You can also add your own event to this calendar or register your private event.

Reconciliation Walk – Koonawarra Bay to Koonawarra Community Centre

18 May @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm AEST

The Reconciliation Walk will start at Lakeside Reserve, Lakeside Dr (near Edgeworth Ave), Koonawarra at 11am. There will be Welcome to Country and some guest speakers in this area before we commence our walk ending at Koonawarra Community Centre, Fowlers Rd, Koonawarra. The walk is approximately 600m and will take around 15 minutes to complete. Please wear suitable footwear and clothing to walk in.

At 12pm, there will be a smoking ceremony and sausage sizzle at Koonawarra Community Centre for everyone to enjoy. You don’t have to come to the walk to enjoy the events at the Community Centre, we would love to see everyone there!
