National Reconciliation Week

2023 Events

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

The dates for NRW are the same each year; 27 May to 3 June.

Every year workplaces, schools, early learning services, community groups, reconciliation groups, and people right across the country host a whole range of activities.

You can also add your own event to this calendar or register your private event.

Please note: the events posted below are not the responsibility of Reconciliation Australia. If you have any questions regarding an event, please contact the organisers.

Gummingurru Tree Planting and Truth Telling

20 May @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm AEST

Join us for a round of truth telling and tree planting at Gummingurru for Reconciliation Week 2023!

This event is all about looking after country and learning about the the story of Gummingurru as an opportunity to join together as community.

At this event you will learn about the cultural and spiritual significance of Gummingurru while planting trees and having a yarn with the local mob!

The event will begin with a Welcome to Country and a smoking ceremony before continuing into the tree planting. Trees will be planted in the 3 ecosystem garden beds which include rainforest, semi-evergreen vine thicket and open woodlands; all situated near the information centre.

After this, come together for a warm meal and a yarn at the end!
