National Reconciliation Week

2023 Events

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

The dates for NRW are the same each year; 27 May to 3 June.

Every year workplaces, schools, early learning services, community groups, reconciliation groups, and people right across the country host a whole range of activities.

You can also add your own event to this calendar or register your private event.

Please note: the events posted below are not the responsibility of Reconciliation Australia. If you have any questions regarding an event, please contact the organisers.

Connect to Country with Kyla McHughes

31 May @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm ACST

Kyla McHughes is a proud local Ngarrindjeri woman, artist, and Ngarrindjeri Language teacher. Especially for Reconciliation week 2023 Kyla will talk to us about the importance of having a Connection to Country.
In Ngarrindjeri culture we feel our mi:wi, our spirit, in our mangkeri, our stomach. Our mi:wi connects to every living thing around us, trees, animals, our totems and our ancestors. When we connect to country our Mi:wi gets really strong. There are many ways we connect to Country today. We connect by being out on Country, even if we are on the water, we are still connecting to Country. We will talk about all the ways we can connect to Country and how others can care for Country and connect to our Country and feel connected. This event is sponsored by Fleurieu Families.
